About Ms. Julia Hall

Hey everyone! I am so excited to be back at the West Ridge Middle School this year.

I have been with Eanes ISD since 2013. But my teaching is dated way back since 1996.  I am a TEA (Texas Education Agency) certified 7th through 12th grade Math teacher.  I have a M.S. degree in Geophysics, and Ph.D ABD in Geophysics from the University of Texas in Austin. I have two sons, Ethan and Preston. Ethan is a Junior at the Westlake High School; Preston is a 6th grader at the West Ridge Middle School. I love to travel just about everywhere in the world. I had spent 3 months in Antartica as a Seismic Researcher, many months in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean as a Geophysics Researcher. I also coach chess at a private school since 2012. I teach chess camps and direct chess tournaments in the summer. Starting this year (2018), I teach Polymer Clay Art enrichment classes at the West Ridge Middle School on Wednesdays (please check with EISD Enrichment Class for details).

One more thing about me: I am also a software engineer. Big projects I had accomplished for the University of Texas were UTEID system and Apply Texas system which many texans have been using when you apply universities.

During my free time, I organize community events. Currently, I hold the position of president for two large organizations: Westlake Chess Association and Chinese Society of Austin.
